Catherine Yerly, Founder/Executive Director - Catherine's multi-faceted experience inspired her vision of Kids Create Peace into a reality. Originally from Texas, Catherine now resides in Los Angeles and has worked as an actor, writer and producer for theatre and film. Her expertise, however, extends beyond the arts. Catherine works as a technical writer for NASA and she led and facilitated discussions through some religious organizations on issues of racism, multi-culturalism, and sexism. Catherine contributes as production coordinator for the documentary "A Meeting - A Future", which captures a dialogue between Israeli and Palestinian teenagers and their design for peace. She also coordinated the worldwide premiere of the PBS documentary "Talk to Me: American's in Conversation", funded by the National Endowment for the Humanities and the Getty Foundation. Catherine spent the summer of 2004 working with children in the small east African village of Pommern, Tanzania. Catherine is an active member of the Agape International Spiritual Center, founded by Michael Beckwith. She serves as a co-director and singer/actor with the Agape Road Show, a group that performs weekly in convalescent homes, prisons, hospices and youth facilities in Los Angeles and New York City. Kids Create Peace encompasses Catherine's dream to bridge working with kids, art and the peace movement.
